Two separate accidents close Interstate 29 SB between Salix and Sloan
Traffic was delayed on Interstate 29 southbound this evening for two separate incidents.
The first was a trailer fire that happened near the Sloan exit.
Traffic had to be diverted off of the Salix exit to Old Highway 75 while crews battled the flames.
The trailer looks to be a total loss as well as the contents inside.
Just minutes after reopening the interstate, another accident closed it down once again.
This two vehicle accident happened near the Salix exit just north of the trailer fire again on the Southbound side of I-29.
The accident caused traffic to back up to one lane and then emergency crews eventually closed down the southbound lanes until the accident was cleared.
Three people were injured in the accident with two of them being transported to Mercy Medical Center.
Two others were uninjured.
