Western Iowa Tech named as Apple Distinguished School
SIOUX CITY, Ia —
Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City being recognized for its work to prepare its students for 21st century jobs.
Apple has named WIT as an "Apple Distinguished School" for the next two years.
That distinction is a result of the college's work to integrate technology into the classroom and providing students the technology they need to succeed in the workplace.
"In today's world, every business, no matter what field you go into, deals with computers. So, providing the tools that they need to learn and understand how the world works as far as technology was imperative to them being successful when they graduate and go out into the workforce," said Dean of I.T. Mike Logan.
Each student enrolled at WIT is provided with a MacBook laptop computer and the ability to connect to virtual classrooms.
