Bridal store Alfred Angelo breaks silence, releases statement on closure
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) —
Alfred Angelo, the bridal company that closed suddenly last week, leaving soon-to-be brides and employees across the country frustrated, is breaking its silence.
The company issued this statement Sunday:
Alfred Angelo filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on July 14, 2017. As a result, all stores and wholesalers are closed. Margaret Smith was appointed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee. According to the bankruptcy filing, creditors have until Nov. 27, 2017, to file a proof of claim against Alfred Angelo.
There is also a meeting set for Aug. 28, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Flagler Waterview Building in West Palm Beach, where a representative of Alfred Angelo must appear at a meeting of creditors. The representative of the company will be questioned under oath.
