Tyler McGhee is a multimedia journalist for KMEG 14 and FOX 44. Tyler grew up near Los Angeles, CA in a city called Westlake Village. He graduated from Briar Cliff University in May of 2016 with a B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Graphic Design.
Tyler’s passion for telling stories started in his reporting for electronic media class where he put together stories with a deadline. The pressure he craves from deadlines he says is similar to the pressure on the football field where he spent ten years of his life. In his senior year of high school he had the opportunity to play for the #1 team in the nation and competed in the state championship game.
During his time in college, Tyler got the chance to start his journey at KMEG as an intern. He recalls the news team as being a group of people who displayed true passion for what they do, something that he realized he wanted to be a part of. After graduation he joined the team as a production assistant where he edited the stories for the evening shows. Tyler is extremely excited to now be a part of the on-air talent at Siouxland News.
Although born and raised in California, Tyler’s favorite sports teams are the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Celtics, the Boston Bruins, and the New England Patriots. His favorite past time was visiting family in Cape Cod, Massachusetts where he also got the chance to see a baseball game at Fenway Park.
