5th generation Sioux Citian receives Deming Award at Annual Chamber Dinner
Stormy weather didn't impact the turnout at Thursday night's 33rd Sioux City Annual Dinner hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.
The keynote speaker was Erik Weihenmayer, who delivered a message about overcoming adversity.
He lost his sight at 14.
Then later went on to be the first blind climber to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
The Chamber also presented Doug Palmer with the 28th annual W. Edward Deming Award.
Palmer is a 5th generation Sioux Citian who's been involved in various businesses including the Tegra Corporation, Palmer Candy and the Lite Form Technologies.
He's also been involved in countless community causes and events for the past 35 years.
