64 year old man killed in motorcycle crash near Elk Point

UPDATE: The South Dakota Department of Public Safety has identified the motorcyclist killed last Sunday after colliding with a deer near Elk Point.

Authorities say Alan Lindgren, 64, of Sioux Falls was thrown from his motorcycle after hitting the deer.

Lindgren was wearing a helmet and later died as a result of his injuries.

A 64-year-old man died Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle-deer crash northwest of Elk Point.

Authorities say a 2009 Victory Vegas Jackpot motorcycle was westbound on 319 Street when it collided with a deer that had entered the roadway.

The driver, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle. He later died as a result of his injuries.

South Dakota's Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of family.
