Area medical experts talk stroke awareness at 2018 Stroke Conference
Medical personnel from across the tri-state region met in Sioux City for the 2018 Stroke Conference.
This conference, which occurs every other year, brings doctors, nurses, EMTs, and other hospital staff together to discuss key aspects of strokes.
Wednesday's talks focused on what to look for with strokes, but also how staff at smaller hospitals can prepare.
"People in the little hospitals, they might not see a stroke for several months. So for them to be up here and understanding what's going on with the patients and what's new, sometimes it's harder when you are in a littler hospital to really keep up to date."
Healthcare workers received continuing education credit for attending this year's conference.
