UPDATE: Authorities identify body of man recovered at Snyder Bend Park
UPDATE: The Sheriff's Office has identified the body of a man that was recovered yesterday at Snyder Bend Park.
Victim has been Identified as Ronald Cooper, 70-year-old male from Sgt. Bluff, Iowa.
The Sheriff's Office has not received any official notification from the Medical Examiner now as what the cause of death might be.
The Investigation is on-going.
UPDATE: Divers have recovered a body believed to be the missing canoer.
The male was transported to UnityPoint Hospital.
Sheriff Office has confirmed this was a canoe not a kayak.
No other details being released at this time, until all family is notified.
Woodbury County Sheriff Deputies are searching the lake at Snyder Bend Park near Salix, IA for a missing kayaker.
Authorities got a call Monday night at about 5:15 PM for that missing kayaker.
Those crews searched the area until 10:30 PM, then started the search back up at 7:30 AM this morning.
Search crews did find a tipped-over canoe, with personal belongings.
Agencies involved in the search along with the Sheriff’s Office include: Woodbury County Conservation, Iowa DNR, Salix Fire Dept., Sioux City Police Department, Sioux City Dive Team.
