SIOUX CITY, Ia — The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors approved another purchase of Cyber Liability Insurance for the upcoming year.
Board chairman Rocky De Witt says it's important to have insurance over this incase the county government gets hacked.
He says, it could cause information of employees or citizens public.
“It's important to have it, you know cyber security is big no matter the entity, private or public. We want to make sure we can protect all of our constituents and employees,” said Rocky De Witt, Board of Supervisors Chairman.
De Witt says, there's never been a hacking issue in the past and the county's IT department monitors their cyber system constantly.
