Body of Lake Park man and vehicle found in water

Dickinson County, Iowa — Just before 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office received a report of a vehicle partially submerged in water north of Montgomery in Diamond Lake Township.

A search was conducted in the waters around the vehicle and rescuers discovered the body of Dale Peters, 65, of Lake Park deceased near the vehicle.

Authorities believe that Peters lost control of his Jeep Cherokee on the gravel road and entered the west ditch where the vehicle rolled once.

The accident remains under investigation by the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office.
