Boil advisory issued for Marcus, Iowa

JANUARY 14, 2018: The boil advisory for Marcus, Iowa has been lifted according to a post on the city's Facebook page.

The boil advisory was issued after a water main break in the distribution system on January 12th.

Samples of the water showed no contaminants.

Residents can resume normal water usage.

JANUARY 12, 2018: The City of Marcus experienced a main break in the distribution system and the system lost pressure on January 12th.

Due to potential for bacterial contamination, it is recommended to that water be boiled before using for drinking or cooking.

Schools in the area also have a 2 hour early dismissal.
