BVU student charged after assaulting another student
On Monday night, the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center Emergency Room to meet with a victim of an alleged assault.
Police met with an adult man who advised he was a student at Buena Vista University and alleged that another student identified as Alissa Good, 20, of Cedar Rapids, IA threatening him with a knife and physically assaulted him in White Hall earlier in the evening.
He told police he owed Good money and Good reportedly confronted him about the money while displaying a knife.
The victim alleged that Good threatened him with the knife, physically assaulted him several times and at one point threw the knife at the victim striking him in the leg.
Other students had to physically pull Good off of the victim.
The victim advised police he was not injured and went to the medical center emergency room to be checked out after the incident.
Police went to Buena Vista University and located Good standing outside of Grand Hall where she was taken into custody without incident.
BVU Security located the knife used in the alleged attack in a third floor men’s restroom in White Hall and turned the weapon over to police.
SLPD charged Good with Going Armed With Intent (class D felony), 2 counts of Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon (aggravated misdemeanor), Assault and Disorderly Conduct (both simple misdemeanors).
Good was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $5000.00 bond.
