Closings and Delays for Saturday and Sunday


Due to the forecast for Saturday, several closings and postponements coming into the newsroom.

-Good News Baptist Church, Ladies Lunch postponed until April 21st

-The Scouting for Food Drive pick-up scheduled for Saturday, April 14th, has been changed to Saturday, April 21st.

-Tri- State College fair at the Delta Hotel in South Sioux City on Sunday is cancelled.

-The Woodbury County Gubernatorial Forum for Saturday has been canceled.

-The Honor Flight Dinner for Saturday, April 14th has been rescheduled to Sunday, April 22nd from 11 am to 2 pm at the American Legion Post in Sgt. Bluff, IA,

-The April 14 ACT test at Northwestern College has been canceled due to impending blizzard conditions. The rescheduled date will be posted on

-Due to the forecast, the Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale will be postponed from Saturday, April 14 to Sunday, April 15 from noon-3 p.m. at the City Auditorium.

-The Siouxland Soup Kitchen and the Day Shelter will be closed Saturday. Warming Shelter will remain open.

-Brookdale Senior Living at 2562 Pierce, open house cancelled

-Grace Methodist Church in Correctionville, Belgian Waffle Breakfast postponed to April 21st at 730-930 am

-Homer, NE Prom and Post Prom have been moved to April 21st.


-Sioux City has declared a snow emergency to take effect beginning at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 14

-Hinton is declaring a snow emergency from Friday 6:00 Pm 4-13-18 till Monday 4-23-18 at 800 no parking on City streets

-Cherokee Mayor Craig Schmidt has declared a snow emergency in the City of Cherokee, beginning 2 AM on Saturday, April 14

-Kingsley Snow Emergency begins Saturday at 1 am thru Monday at 8 am, No Parking on city streets

-The City of Storm Lake is declaring a SNOW EMERGENCY effective Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:00 PM and running through Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 6:00 AM.

-City of MOVILLE, IA is declaring a Snow Emergency - No Parking On City Streets until all streets are cleared.

-The City of South Sioux City has declared a Snow Emergency through Sunday.
