Continued training keeps Sioux City Fire Rescue in top shape
Sioux City Fire Rescue's search and rescue team got some extra training Wednesday afternoon.
The department brought in an organization that runs "Paratech University."
That organization runs a two day event that contains the most current heavy lifting, shifting, stabilizing, and building shoring techniques used by firefighters and rescuers.
"Training like this I mean it's something that can be used in a wide variety of scenarios and different situations. So you can use the same equipment for different things so it's always important, we train constantly on all the subjects that we have to know," said Captain Gerry Bennett.
Wednesday's session focus on smaller vehicles, while Thursday's session will focus on larger vehicles like semis.
