Curtis Jones murder trial gets underway, charged in shooting death of Siouxland native
The trial for a man charged in the shooting death of a Sioux City native is underway.
42-year-old Curtis Jones is facing a 1st degree murder charge in the death of Jonathan Wieseler in Iowa City back in 2017.
Wieseler, a 2001 graduate of North High, was working in his Iowa City Bail Bonds office when he was killed.
Just last week, Jones was sentenced to life behind bars for killing an Iowa City cab driver.
Both trials had to be moved out of Iowa City following intense publicity behind the crimes.
Jones current trial is taking place in Polk County Court.
