JEFFERSON, Sd — PM UPDATE: Lucky timing helped save one farm house in rural Jefferson, South Dakota this morning.
Around 11:00 this morning fire crews from North Sioux City and the Jefferson Fire departments responded to a call from a bystander who happened to be driving by the home.
Crews were on scene for about two hours.
The home was vacant at the time, besides a dog that was rescued from the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
AM UPDATE: Several fire departments are on scene of a house fire in Jefferson, SD.
The house is on 482nd Ave in Jefferson, SD.
Elk Point Fire Department, Jefferson Fire Department and the Union County Sheriffs Office is on scene.
