Former coach convicted of child sex abuse

A Nebraska jury has convicted a former Siouxland football coach of abusing the son of his ex girlfriend.

Kyle Ewinger, the former head coach at Sioux City West and Sibley- Ocheydan has been found guilty of first- degree sexual abuse by a jury in Omaha after 5 hours of deliberation.

Prosecutors say Ewinger abused the 9 year old repeatedly between 2012 and 2013 including at a home in Sioux City. Ewinger was fired from his job in Sibley after an administrator walked in on him sleeping in his office with a young boy, with Viagra and lubricant nearby. His trial in Osceola County on those charges is scheduled for April.
