Community Tailgate to Honor Local Law Enforcement

The Sioux City community is hosting a special tailgating event to honor local law enforcement officers.

That tailgate will take place before the Morningside vs Briar Cliff football game on October 24th.

It will begin at 10:30am that Saturday morning in the west parking lot at Elwood Olsen Stadium on the Morningside campus.

The event will include a free meal for law enforcement officers and their families, who will also get a voucher for a reduced- price ticket to the game.

Woodbury County Sheriff Dave Drew says, "We're not like the rest of the country day in and day out when those negatives are going around the country. We hear nothing but positive. Our officers and deputies have received many thank yous, we're praying for you, and things such as that and its uplifting but to have this event on this special day it means a great deal to all law enforcement."

The event is open to the public. The cost of admission for non-law enforcement officers is $5 for adults and $3 for students and kids.
