Local high school students create children's books for local elementary school students

Students in the Sioux City Career Academy teach elementary students how to prevent infections in the peak of flu season.

It's the peak of flu season, and the students in the Sioux City Career Academy are doing their part to prevent infections in schools, and at home.

Students in the Wall-to-Wall program have created children's books to teach younger kids about infections.

They visited Perry Creek Elementary Tuesday morning. reading their books and teaching kids the proper way to wash their hands.

Aubrey Seaton, a 2nd grader at Perry Creek Elementry, told us, "They taught me how I could wash my hands a different way and not get germs from the faucet or anything."

The books combine things learned in the High School students' History, English and Health Careers classes.
