Hundreds of Canada Geese stop in Dakota Dunes field


    Hundreds and hundred of Canada Geese that have temporarily "parked" in a field near Malloy Electric in Dakota Dunes.

    Hundreds and hundred of Canada Geese that have temporarily "parked" in a field near Malloy Electric in Dakota Dunes.

    They're among thousands of geese that have been migrating through the area recently.

    Dawn Snyder of the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center says nearby open water at McCook Lake and the Missouri River, food in the fields, along with the site of resident geese who spend the season here may have decoyed them to make this a stopping point for awhile, before heading south.
