Lawsuit against Tyson Foods over COVID-19-related deaths to remain in state court

WATERLOO, IOWA — A lawsuit filed against Tyson Foods by the families of packing plant workers who died from COVID-19 will remain in state courts.

That comes after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the company's appeal of rulings by federal judges who declined to move the case.

The company claimed the case should be moved to Federal court because it was operating under a Presidential order from the Trump Administration during covid. But those judges said that the order did not protect the company from legal liability.
