Sioux City Litter Dash postponed to May 5th

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — UPDATE: The Sioux City Litter Dash, originally scheduled for Friday, April 21, is postponed to Friday, May 5, 2023 from Noon to 4:00 p.m.

Volunteers are still welcome to participate and registration will be open through April 29 at www.sioux-city.org/litterdash.

Sioux City is asking for your help tidying up town and picking up garbage.

The Sioux City Litter Dash is a clean-up across town with the goal of reducing the impact of litter on our environment. Registration is now open for teams of ten and more to volunteer to make their community a cleaner place.

Teams will join others at noon on Friday, April 21st for a complimentary lunch and volunteer rally at the Siouxland Expo Center where teams will receive collection materials, including gloves and bags. Following lunch, each group will go to their assigned location.

City Officials say that more than two tons of litter were picked up during the dash last year.
