Local lawyer and radio personality now part-time judge in Woodbury County
A local lawyer is joining the Woodbury County judiciary.
Dan Vakulskas will become a part-time magistrate judge hearing small claims and simple misdemeanor cases in Woodbury County.
He fills a position left vacant by Stephanie Forker-Parry's promotion to associate judge earlier this month.
Vakulskas graduated from North High in 2001, earning a bachelor's degree from the university of Iowa before attending law school in Michigan.
He currently practices law in Sioux City and contributes to local high school sports coverage with his brother Brian on KSCJ radio.
