Longtime Sioux Citian Dr. Cyndi Hanson announces House run against incumbent Steve King
Northwest Iowa's Republican Congressman Steve King will have a primary election challenge in 2018.
Sioux City resident Dr. Cyndi Hanson announcing her campaign just minutes ago at the Sioux City Public Library.
Hanson is a native of Monona County and says she has been immersed in Iowa characteristics of hard work, service to others, integrity and family values her entire life.
Her campaign is focused on less politics and more action, saying she wants to be a Republican that is "truly reflective of Iowa and the values we cherish."
"Too much of our conversation is what we are against instead of what we stand for. What I talked about today is all of the things I stand for. I stand for agriculture, I stand for hard work, I stand for recognizing the contribution that every citizen that we have in our district has to offer. Those are what I stand for. I am not going to talk about what I stand against because that's what we hear all the time and that's really irrelevant," Hanson said.
Doctor Hanson toured the district today, meeting voters and answering questions.
