UPDATE: Man steals $13,000 from check cashing store before being arrested

JULY 19, 2018: We're learning more this afternoon about an armed robbery at a check-cashing store on Hamilton Boulevard yesterday.

43- year- old Derrick Henderson is charged with 1st degree robbery in the case and is being held in the Woodbury County Jail on $50,000 dollars bond.

Court documents allege Henderson walked into the Check Into Cash store on Hamilton Boulevard just before 6:00 PM last night demanding all the money in the store and threatened the clerk with a fake gun.

He escaped on a bike with more than $13,000 dollars, but was tracked down by police and arrested a short time later.


JULY 18, 2018: Police have arrested a suspect in the robbery of a Sioux City store that happened early Wednesday evening.

That armed robbery took place about 6:00 PM at the Check Into Cash store in the Bomgaars strip mall on Hamilton Boulevard.

Video from Siouxland Scanner shows a suspect who was on a bike being questioned, then arrested a short while later at West 16th and Geneva.

43-year-old Derrick Henderson was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Robbery.

The investigation is still ongoing.
