Search for missing Sioux Falls woman in Yankton continues
APRIL 4th PM UPDATE:
The search continues this evening for a missing Sioux Falls woman, whose car was found yesterday in Yankton.
That search of the Missouri River is centered on the Meridian Bridge.
Four boat crews took to the Missouri River in effort to find Bartling's body.
She has been missing since Sunday, when she left her home in Sioux Falls.
So far, crews have searched the river and banks between Yankton and Vermillion, but have found no sign of Bartling.
Yankton's Police Chief says murky water is making the search even more difficult.
"We throw markers out to see how they drift and follow the current and from there they start searching. Our search and rescue is on the Northside moving toward the middle and our game fish and parks, South Dakota Game Fish and Parks is working from the Nebraska side in," said Yankton Police Chief Brian Paulsen.
The search has been called off for tonight and will reconvene tomorrow, with additional help from the Nebraska Game, Fish and Parks Department.
APRIL 4th AM UPDATE: Authorities in Yankton, SD have begun their search of the Missouri River for a missing Sioux Falls woman.
Yankton Police said yesterday that the belongings and car of missing 66 year old Diane Bartling were found near the Meridian Bridge in Yankton.
Police will attempt to locate Dianne Bartling today near where her belongings were found.
Sioux Falls PD are trying to locate missing 66 year Diane Jane Bartling who was last seen in Sioux Falls on Sunday, April 1st.
Today, The Yankton Police said they found Mrs. Bartling's car and personal effects near the Meridian Bridge in Yankton.
Police will attempt to locate Bartling tomorrow using a number of resources on the river.
