New playground officially open at Adam's Homestead
There's a new attraction that's now open to people visiting a North Sioux City park.
Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve in North Sioux cut the ribbon for its new Cottonwood Playground this morning.
The custom-designed and built park is shaped like a cottonwood tree and made with replica cottonwood.
"We know nowadays that kids don't spend as much outside as they should. I wanted kids to have some free play, some instructed time, so we wanted to do a playground so we can get more kids to come to the park and then hopefully, it's kind of a gateway for them to explore the rest of the park," said park manager Jody Moats.
The $250,000 dollar project was funded in part by a $75,000 dollar grant from the Wellmark Foundation.
