Norfolk man accused of Morningside area sexual assaults takes plea agreement
The Norfolk man accused of a series of sexual assaults in Morningside last February has agreed to a plea deal.
30-year-old Zachary Person has agreed to plead guilty to charges of second degree burglary by a habitual offender and invasion of privacy.
Prosecutors will drop charges of 3rd degree sexual abuse, assault by penetration, serious assault and assault with the intent to commit sexual abuse.
At a hearing on Wednesday, Person will be sentenced to 15 years in prison for the burglary charge and 2 years for the invasion of privacy, along with a special sentence of 10 years in prison that will begin after the sentence for burglary and invasion of privacy is completed.
He will also have to register as a sex offender and cannot contact his 3 victims for a period of at least 5 years.
