A group of Siouxland nursing assistants is coming together to help the family of last month's deadly ice accident on Storm Lake.

Tonight Certified Nursing Assistants from Siouxland bused tables and took tips at the Pizza Ranch on Floyd Boulevard to raise money for fellow CNA, Erica Johnson.

Johnson's 8 year old son Blair died, and her nine and five year old daughters nearly drowned, when a car driven by their father Zachary Newlon went through the ice on Storm Lake. He died too.

"Just reach out and show support for her and the girls, let her know that the community is thinking about her through this tough time and try and keep her uplifted in prayers," said Gerelene Mackey, Johnson's friend and co-worker.

If you missed tonight's event, you can stop by the Sergeant Bluff Pizza Ranch next Monday, February 11th from 5 to 8 pm.

All proceeds will go towards funeral and medical expenses.
