Police: Pants-less Iowa City man on acid tries to break into neighbor's house for sex
IOWA CITY (KGAN) - An Iowa City man is facing multiple charges after a trip on acid that resulted in him taking his pants off, destroying his neighbor's property and attacking a doctor.
Criminal complaints say it all started when 18-year-old Phillip Antonio Lopes-Round took four acid tablets early Friday morning, which he admitted to police. Lopes-Round says the drugs caused him to take off his pants and underwear, go to his neighbor's house and ask her to have sex with him. The woman said Lopes-Round rambled to her, saying things like "everything in life is boring."
When he was not let into her home, Lopes-Round ripped his neighbor's mailbox from its post, broke the house number and a light that was hanging above it.
Police arrested Lopes-Round and took him to Mercy Hospital, where he attempted to headbutt a doctor when they attempted to put a hospital gown on him because he still didn't have pants on.
Lopes-Round was charged with simulated public intoxication, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and assault on persons in certain occupations.
He has since bonded out of the Johnson County Jail.
