Scheels of Sioux City donates $141,000 to Siouxland area non-profits
A local sporting goods store is giving back to the community once again.
Scheels of Sioux City held its third annual "Day of Giving" Tuesday, inviting more than 40 Siouxland area non-profit groups to the store to receive a donation to support their work.
The national retailer gives ten percent of its profits back to the community, with the local store leader saying it's an honor to give back in this way.
Dan Hermanson, Scheels Store Leader, told us, "The checks that we distributed today were from our store profits. Our belief as our company and our culture is that the community has taken such great care of us it's our responsibility to give back."
A total of $141,000 was given out, $21,000 of which was donated by local employees.
