Sioux City Popeyes manager stars in national commercial

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — A Sioux City man is making his national TV debut, chosen to be featured in a commercial for Popeyes.

Sioux Citian Dexter Johnson is a store manager at the Popeyes on Singing Hills Boulevard.

He won a nationwide contest after submitting a video showcasing the restaurant in a Broadway-style number.

He was then flown to New Orleans to shoot the commercial that started airing this week.

"It was amazing, just to see the cajun hospitality and different types of food. Amazing experience, I ever, ever went through," said Johnson. "I felt like I was in Hollywood."

Johnson has been working at Popeyes for the last three years.

He previously worked at the Hamilton location, before moving to Singing Hills about a month ago.
