Siouxland attorney has license suspended after sex with a client
A northwest Iowa attorney has been suspended for a month by the Iowa Supreme Court, after admitting having sex with a client.
Michael Jacobsma of Orange City self-reported that violation of ethics rules after being confronted by his partners.
The woman had been a client of Jacobsma's between May and November of 2017 and began having sex with him in October of 2017.
In 2015, Jacobsma lost a case before the Iowa Supreme Court when he challenged the validity of a speeding ticket issued by Sioux City's automated traffic camera system.
