The City of Sioux City has issued a snow emergency for city residents.

The snow emergency will begin Sunday at noon which means parking is prohibited on roads marked as emergency snow routes.

The snow emergency declaration prohibits parking or leaving a vehicle unattended on an emergency snow route street.

A map showing emergency snow route streets may be located at sioux-city.org.

Additionally, citizens should park on the even side of the street on even days of the month after 7:00 AM until 7:00 AM the following day.

Vehicles should be parked on the odd street numbered side of the street on odd days of the month during the same time period.

Sunday, January 21 is an odd day, therefore residents should park on the odd side of the street. Vehicles must be moved to the even side of the street on Monday, January 22 at 7:00 AM.

Any vehicle found in violation of the snow emergency parking restrictions will be towed at the owner's expense.
