Stanton Co. Deputy dragged by car during traffic stop

A Stanton County deputy was dragged by a car that sped away during a traffic stop early Friday morning.

The driver of that car, 24 year old Roman Jennings of Madison, had been pulled over for having expired plates.

The deputy thought he smelled pot and saw a gun case in the car.

Jennings, who is a known felon, led authorities on a chase that hit speeds of nearly a hundred miles an hour.

He's facing numerous charges including 2nd Degree Assault on a Peace Officer and use of a Weapon to commit a Felony.

The deputy was treated and released.
