Storm Lake Police investigating $10k check fraud scheme in NW Iowa

STORM LAKE, Iowa — Storm Lake Police are looking for the public's help in identifying more than a dozen suspects in a check fraud scheme.

Friday afternoon, Storm Lake Police were called to Delicias Bakery for reported check fraud. Investigators believe this is part of an orchestrated crime involving 10-15 Hispanic males who police say presented payroll checks on a fictitious account and obtained nearly $10,000 in cash before leaving in multiple vehicles.

Storm Lake Police believe the group did this at several businesses throughout Northwest Iowa on Friday.

Police are asking the public for assistance in identifying the pictured subjects and vehicles.
