PLAINVIEW, Neb. — One school district near Norfolk is already delaying the start of their school year due to COVID-19.
The superintendent for the Plainview Public School District tested positive for COVID-19 this week leading the school board to delay the start of the school year to keep students and staff safe.
School was scheduled to begin Aug. 13th. The district had held small group meetings at the start of the week, before Superintendent Darron Arlt began showing symptoms.
The district says the delay is out of an abundance of caution and classes will now begin August 24th.
