Former Sioux Center Christian school teacher back in custody

JANUARY 26, 2018: After posting bond back in December, a former Sioux Center Christian School teacher is in custody again.

According to Police Chief, Paul Adkins, the Sioux Center Police Department arrested Curtis Van Dam, 35, of Sioux Center at his residence this morning.

Van Dam was arrested on a warrant issued by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa.

The warrant is an indictment for the following offenses: Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Possession of Child Pornography.

The Sioux Center Police Department transported Van Dam to the US Marshal Services at the Federal Court House in Sioux City.

The Northwest Iowa teacher facing dozens of charges of child sex abuse is free on bond tonight.

Curtis Van Dam a former teacher and coach at Sioux Center Christian School was released on $150,000 bond after a hearing in Sioux County District Court.

As a condition of his bond, he must wear an ankle monitor and avoid all contact with children under age 15.

His trial date is set for March 6th of 2018.
