Two hurt during Wednesday night robbery in Sioux City

A gun was thrown out the window of a vehicle after a Sioux City police officer tried to stop it at 11:54 PM Wednesday night, near 27th & Jennings.

The vehicle got away, but was later found, empty, in the 2600 block of Douglas Street.

A little while later, officers were flagged down by a person saying he was robbed and kidnapped at gunpoint in his home.

Police learned he was forced into the vehicle and when officers tried to stop it, he was able to escape.

Police officers learned two people had been hurt during the robbery, at a home in the 2700 block of Virginia Street.

One person required medical attention, and was treated and released from a Sioux City hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is still going on at this time.
