U.S. Army Corps of Engineers adjusts dam releases
Yankton, sd —
The recent rainfall across the Upper Midwest has the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers making adjustments to releases from dams along the Missouri River.
The Corps is increasing releases from the Garrison Dam in North Dakota as constant rain between Fort Peck and Garrison adds to the final melting of snow packed in that area.
Meanwhile in Siouxland, releases from the Gavins Point Dam have been decreased to 36,000 cubic feet per second because of high flows of the river downstream from the dam.
