Winnebago artist Chuck Raymond pieces on exhibit at public museum
A local artist now has his work on display at the Sioux City Public Museum.
Prominent Winnebago artist Chuck Raymond has a selection of his best-known pieces, including some rarely-seen black and white images featured in the new exhibit.
Native American artifacts are also on display to compliment his artwork.
"It really is a wonderful opportunity, not just for the people of Sioux City, but for guests from outside of the community to take a look at that. Some of our beaded pieces truly are world class. We've had people from the Smithsonian, people from the Denver museum look at it and they're really just envious of us," said director Steve Hansen.
Raymond was born in Winnebago, Nebraska in 131 and spent much of his life here in the Siouxland area until his death in 1989.
