Woodbury County residents will see a decrease in their property taxes for the 4th year
The increase in salaries comes after supervisors approved a nearly 3% raise for themselves.
The county attorney, sheriff, auditor and treasurer are also getting raises.
Meanwhile the board is decreasing the property tax rate by almost 2% countywide.
Board Chair Rocky DeWitt says they've accomplished that by reducing expenditures overall.
"We're looking for ways that we can just eliminate waste in what we see is money that's not spent wisely, obviously. We're really comfortable with making it as low as we did for as many years in a row as we did."
DeWitt says this is one of the lowest tax rates Woodbury County has seen in years.
The board is spending a total of 54 point $7 million dollars in the coming fiscal year up by about $2 million dollars over the current year.
