Mustangs bats explode to split Sioux City series with Briar Cliff

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — After the Briar Cliff Chargers walked off on the Morningside Mustangs 3-2 in game 1 of their series Sunday afternoon, the Mustangs got even in game 2. After a quiet first 4 innings, the Morningside bats came alive for 3 home runs in the top of the 5th for 9 total runs to take a 10-0 lead in the 5th. When it was all said and done after 7 innings, the Mustangs came out on top with a 14-0 shutout victory.
