Wayne softball is headed back to State

The Wayne softball team is going to the State softball tournament for the 11th year in a row, thanks to an 8-0 win over David County-East Butler.

Wayne and DCEB were scoreless in the 4th inning before the Blue Devils finally got on the scoreboard. Wayne broke through for a 6-run, 2-out rally, then put up two more runs in the 5th to end the game by the mercy rule.

Sophomore pitcher Tori Kniesche threw a perfect game in the process, setting the Nebraska Class B record for no-hitters in a season.
