Lynnette Grant is the Morning Meteorologist for Siouxland News at Sunrise. She graduated from Valparaiso University in Northwest Indiana with a degree in Meteorology, as well as minors in Communications and Mathematics.
Lynnette’s passion for tracking storms started from a young age, when she would sit on the kitchen floor in front of a map of the Chicago suburbs during severe weather. Lynnette remembers calling her Dad at work on multiple occasions, giving him updates on the impending weather. That passion continued through college, where she helped lead the Weather staff at her college television station, VUTV, and was a member of the local chapters of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association. She produced an award-winning story on the rebuilding efforts in Washington, IL after an EF-4 tornado cut through the small town during November 2013. While in college, she also served on the Relay for Life Planning Committee, taking on the role as Director of Ceremonies in 2015.
Lynnette has many hobbies relating to the fine arts: music, theatre, photography, dance, cooking…you name it! She loves to sing and plays many instruments, and also enjoys the occasional nature photography session. She also loves being out in the sun, so give her a “Hello” if you find her around Siouxland. Lynnette is excited to work with a great team, helping to tell the story so you are prepared for your day.
